Who are we?
Emergency Lawyers Emergency Lawyers is an independent legal group established in response to the urgent needs for human rights defense in Sudan. We are a team of lawyers and rights defenders who believed that justice cannot wait, and that the rule of law is the only fortress for civilians in the face of violations.
Our Vision
A Sudan where justice prevails, human dignity is preserved, and the phenomenon of impunity disappears forever.
Our Mission
To provide immediate legal protection for detainees, document violations, and demand accountability through all national and international legal platforms.
Our History and Goals
Our work began in legal emergency rooms, where we faced grave challenges in reaching detainees and providing legal representation for them. Over time, our work evolved to include field documentation of violations affecting civilians in conflict areas, and the issuance of field reports that reflect the human rights reality in Sudan with complete impartiality and professionalism.
- Defending political detainees and the forcibly disappeared.
